The PFI was made in 2007 through the consolidation of three Muslim associations in southern India,

the Public Majority rule Front in Kerala, the Karnataka Gathering for Respect, and the Manitha Neethi Pasarai in Tamil Nadu.

A choice to unite the three outfits was taken in November 2006 at a gathering in Kozhikode in Kerala.

The development of the PFI was officially reported at a meeting in Bengaluru

during what was known as the "Enable India Gathering" on February 16, 2007.

The PFI, which arose in the outcome of the prohibition on the Understudies Islamic Development of India (SIMI),

has extended itself as an association that battles for the freedoms of minorities, Dalits, and underestimated networks.
