Nvidia has drawn attention in recent years for its booming data center business, which sells chips used in artificial intelligence,

such as natural language processing. But the company's roots lie in graphics chips,

which still accounted for 59% of its $26.9 billion in revenue in its most recent fiscal year.

In a speech broadcast online Tuesday, Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang introduced the company's latest series of graphics chips,

Ada Lovelace, named after the 19th-century British mathematician who is considered a pioneer in computer science.

The flagship model of the GeForce RTX 4090 chip will be sold for $1,599 and will go on sale on October 12.

The two less expensive RTX 4080 models will start at $899 and $1,199, respectively, and will go on sale in November.
